Kingwood Announces Appointment of Dwain Frank Floyd as the coordinator for Kingwood Township’s Office of Emergency Management!

The Township is proud to announce the appointment of Dwain Frank Floyd as the coordinator for Kingwood Township’s Office of Emergency Management. Mr. Floyd presently serves as Chief of the Kingwood Township Fire Department. His credentials as a first responder are extensive and will aid the township and its residents for the planning, mitigation, and implementation of emergency operations where this is warranted. The Township, as all residents are aware, suffered extensive damage from Hurricane Ida. Chief Floyd also has a working knowledge of dealing with disaster grant reimbursements through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Township Committee wishes Chief Floyd all the best in his new position with the Township.
The Municipal Building opened its doors on February 14th to the public. Residents can now enter the building following CDC guidelines in order to conduct their business with the township more efficiently.
Kingwood Community Day to Resume!

After many years, there are plans to bring back Kingwood Day! This community event has been sorely missed and the Township Committee plans on making 2022 the year of this events return! Stay tuned for further details on the date, time, and details for Kingwood Day 2022.

The Township sadly announces the passing of David Pierce, resident and longtime attorney for the Township’s Planning Board and Board of Adjustment. David’s contributions to the Township were valued and appreciated by all who worked with him. His expertise and professionalism will always be remembered with fondness and sincere appreciation.
